My Story

Hi! I'm Sandra. I love flowers and

Hi! I'm Sandra. I love flowers and I'm on a mission to create "Floral art that makes you blooming smile."

With bold colours and playful designs, my work is a contemporary take on the classic floral theme.

Why? Because floral art doesn't have to look like Grandma's sofa!

And those Parma Violets? Yeah, they're a little shoutout to my family name, Palmer.

Nature's Child

My love affair with nature began early. Growing up in Birmingham, I spent countless hours exploring the fantastic hill near my house, rolling in fields of wildflowers and weaving daisy chains in the summer sunshine. Even in school, a fantastic teacher sparked a lifelong curiosity about the natural world, encouraging our class to grow sunflowers and witness their incredible heights. These experiences continue to inspire my art today.

(Here's a photo of said hill! 💚)

The Brummy Artist Blooms

Yes, "Brummy" is a nod to my Birmingham roots! While some might see the slight misspelling as a typo, I believe it adds a touch of character. Art has always been my passion, from school days to my studies in photography, textiles, and even swimwear design!

The Brummy Artist truly blossomed in December 2023. After a decade in the fashion industry, I found myself turning to art for peace and mindfulness during a challenging time. Playing with photos, drawings, paintings, and collages of flowers from my garden and walks reignited a creative spark. I knew these vibrant blooms had to be the heart of my work, and so, the Brummy Artist was born.

(By the way, the kid smiling from ear to ear in the picture! Yep! That's me! revelling in being outdoors!)

A Disruptive Floral Artist

Since the pandemic, I've gained a newfound appreciation for life. I'm channeling my energy into things that bring me joy, like my artistic pursuits and positive relationships. My home, my peaceful haven, is adorned with my artwork, a constant source of happiness.

Did you know why?

There's an abundance of flowers in Birmingham!

Birmingham's urban landscape has undergone a green transformation since the 1980s, when Prince Charles famously dubbed it a "Concrete City." Today, the city is adorned with vibrant flowerbeds, lush green spaces, and towering trees. Roundabouts burst with colourful blooms, and even the most modern buildings are softened by natural beauty.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story!
