Manchester Calling is part of my Out of Brum collection — an ongoing series celebrating the beating heart of Britain’s most iconic cities.

Inspired by Manchester, this collage layers the city’s powerful sporting legacy with its modern skyline and unmistakable northern energy. At its core stands Old Trafford, alongside the legendary United Trinity Statue — honouring George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton, the trio who helped Manchester United become the first English club to lift the European Cup in 1968.

Set against the striking presence of Beetham Tower, the composition blends old and new — tradition and ambition. Trams weave through the cityscape, symbolising movement and momentum, while layered botanicals soften the architecture, reflecting growth and reinvention.

This piece is about pride. Legacy. And a city that continues to evolve while never forgetting where it came from.
