✨ About the Artwork

The Barton Arms is an original layered photographic collage created from my own images taken at this historic Newtown landmark.

I’ve blended multiple colours and textures to reimagine the pub as a contemporary artwork — playing with light, depth, and tone to give the building a dreamlike, painterly quality.

Built in 1900–1901 and designed by James & Lister Lea for Mitchells & Butlers, the Barton Arms is a beautiful example of neo-Jacobean architecture, known for its red brick façade, ornate stone detailing, and striking corner clock tower.

This piece celebrates both its architectural heritage and its enduring place in Birmingham’s cultural story.
